"Mommy and Me" Classes:
This fun class is a great way to introduce toddlers to dance and tumbling through music and games. It is designed to include Mom so students can become accustomed to taking direction & socializing with other children while developing balance, flexibility and body awareness. This class helps children transition to separating from parents and for many children is their first time in a "school" setting. Instructors are educated in early childhood development and have many years teaching children. Classes are 45 minutes in length.
"Tumble, Tap and Tights" Classes:
This class encourages balance, strength and flexibility. While enabling child to develop self awareness, children discover dance through a playful environment of music and dance games. This basic introduction to tap, ballet and tumbling allows students to experience various dance forms while learning basic dance technique. Instructors are educated in early childhood development and have many years teaching experience. Classes are 1 hour in length.
"Combo" Classes:
These classes instruct students in the fundamentals of various dance forms. Classes incorporate performance ability through song and dance while developing coordination, flexibility, rhythm and body awareness. Students gain confidence through various class activities while socializing with children their age. Classes are 1 hour and vary dance styles. We offer combinations of ballet, tap, jazz, acro and hip hop.
Ballet Classes:
The foundation of all dance forms, ballet enhances and improves all physical activities! While teaching technical steps and vocabulary, instructors emphasize correct body placement through barre, center and across the floor work. Ballet develops grace, beauty and poise and is a great form of exercise!! We strongly recommend all students take ballet. Classes are 1 hour in length.
Pointe Classes:
Pointe is a continuation of ballet for the serious student. Pointe enhances strength, control, and body placement and is by teacher recommendation only. Students may not start pointe before age 10 due to development of the dancer's feet.
Tap Classes:
Tap uses the feet to learn different methods of rhythm and syncopation. These classes emphasize proper tap technique through clear tap sounds, rhythm & timing. Tap is a great tool for learning showmanship and is a lot of fun for children. Tap not only enhances body movement skills, it "exercises" the brain through counting and combinations. Classes will study various artists from classic Fred Estaire to hip Savion Glover and are 1 hour in length.
Jazz Classes:
Jazz is a stylized personal form of dance that uses the body. Emphasis is on proper technique and body alignment while increasing strength and flexibility. We combine traditional jazz technique with more modern and hip hop styles and classes may vary from Broadway style to funk. Classes are 1 hour in length.
Lyrical Classes:
Lyrical is a slower style of dance that emphasizes musical interpretation. This popular dance form includes ballet fundamentals, modern dance and contemporary dance through expressive movement. Lyrical is a great way to teach expression, showmanship and confidence. Lyrical stresses strength, flexibility and body awareness. Classes are 1 hour in length.
Hip Hop Classes:
Performed to contemporary music, Hip Hop is a fun and different way to learn some basic jazz technique through jumping, turning and body movement. This highly popular dance form is a great way to develop body awareness, strength and flexibility. Classes may include choreography seen on popular music videos and performers such as Justin Timberlake. Classes are 1 hour.
"Broadway" Classes:
Our fun and interesting Broadway class instructs students in acting, emoting and facial expression. Classes are an innovative way of introducing musical theatre to any age student while teaching stage presence and confidence. We include popular shows like Annie, High School Musical and Grease! Classes are 1 hour in length.
Modern Classes:
Our modern classes focus on stretching, strength, flexibility and body awareness through various and intricate movements. Our teachers instruct students on various methods of modern such as styles by Martha Graham. Classes are 1 hour in length and are a great form of exercise!
Acro/Gymnastics Classes:
Gymnastics/Acro is a development process that is based on the individual. Our classes instruct students from beginner to advanced on various gymnastics skills. Students will learn basic tumbling from cartwheels and bridges to back handsprings and back tucks. These classes develop large motor skills and flexibility through various stretching and acrobatic activities. We welcome Cheerleaders wishing to improve their tumbling skill levels. Classes are also great for boys or girls involved in activities like karate and sports. Classes are 1 hour in length.
Strength/Flexibility Classes:
Classes are offered to increase a students body flexibility and strength and are great for children involved in dance and athletics. Classes are typically 1/2 hour in length and are also a great way to exercise.
Leaps/Turns Classes:
This class focuses on the basic and intricate technique involved in mastering leaps and turns. Based on the individual, this class is a great way to improve a student's balance and skill level. Who couldn't use some extra practice time? Classes are typically 1/2 hour in length and alternate leaping and turning each week.
