Miss Kim

Dance Instructor & Choreographer

Miss Kim has been dancing since the young age of two! She began competing at the age of eight, and absolutely fell in love with everything about dance and competition. Miss Kim trained with Miss Alissa and Miss Beth throughout all of her years of taking dance lessons. When Miss Kim was 14, she began student teaching with Miss Alissa and Miss Beth. Before she knew it, she was teaching many recreational and competitive classes throughout her high school, college years, and beyond. Miss Kim attended Fairleigh Dickinson and earned her B.A. in Psychology. After working as an aide in a school for children with special needs, Miss Kim decided to pursue her degree in Special Education from Kean University. Upon completion, Miss Kim began teaching special education at Byram Intermediate School. This is where Miss Kim developed a love for working with students with learning disabilities and various other challenges. To gain more expertise and knowledge, Miss Kim earned a Master’s degree from The College of New Jersey in Special Education. After spending 12 years teaching special education, Miss Kim decided to go back to college to earn a Learning Disabilities Teacher Consultant certification from Rutgers University. Currently, Miss Kim works on the Child Study Team in the Denville School system as a Learning Disabilities Teacher Consultant. Although Miss Kim loves to learn and work with children at school, her true passion is for teaching dance. Miss Kim thoroughly enjoys working with the children at Generations of Dance and feels so fortunate to be sharing her passion and love for dance with all of the amazing kids at Generations of Dance. Miss Kim strives to create a positive atmosphere where dance class is fun, while the children are still learning and improving. Miss Kim loves to choreograph jazz and lyrical routines for all of her students, and most of all loves to see them being performed on stage. In addition, Miss Kim is busy at home with two children (Dylan, 5 and Shea, 3). Generations of Dance is honored to have Miss Kim teaching our dancers and sharing her joy for dance with all of them.
