Miss Beth
Owner/Director, Dance Instructor & Choreographer
Mrs. Beth Johnson was a competitive gymnast for 12 years and competitive dancer for over 10 years. Miss Beth has been teaching dance and gymnastics for over 20 years! She attended Kean College where she majored in Special Education and devoted several years to volunteering for the Special Olympics. Miss Beth has won many Top Teacher, Choreography and Top Technique Awards! Miss Beth's love for children is what drives her to pass along her love for dance and gymnastics. As a former "Miss New Jersey National Teenager", Miss Beth knows the importance of instilling self-confidence and socialization in her students. Miss Beth is also a wife and mother of four; Sean, Mackenzie, Samantha, and Molly!
Miss Becky
Dance Instructor & Choreographer
Mrs. Becky Campbell starting dancing at age 4 but became seriously involved in ballet at age 6. Her many years of training have brought her to perform in several ballets including Cinderella, Coppelia, Sleeping Beauty, Robinhood and Vivaldi's Four Seasons. Miss Becky has been teaching ballet and modern for 9 years while she continues her education. She attended Community College of Morris where she received her Associates in Dance. Upon graduation, Miss Becky was awarded the Choreographer/Dancer Award. She later took classes at Montclair State University and is currently attending William Paterson University where she majors in Math and Secondary Education. In 2002, Miss Becky had a modern piece of hers called "Slurp, Bang, Bang" chosen to perform in Boston at the American Choreography Dance Festival (ACDF). The following year her piece, "Kindly Worshipping" was chosen to go to Vermont for ACDF. Miss Becky has studied ballet and modern at many schools including Peridance Center in NYC where she focused on the Jose Limon technique. We are so proud to have Miss Becky teaching our students!
Miss Alli
Dance Instructor & Choreographer
Mrs. Alexis Williams has been taking dance lessons since she was three-years-old. She studied ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical, hip-hop, and pointe with Beth Johnson and Alissa Lay for most of her life. She started dancing competitively when she was four-years-old. Alexis studied modern dance at County College of where she earned an Associate of Arts. She earned her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Mathematics at William Paterson Universityin 2012. There, she was selected to perform with the college dance team for two years. She stayed active in dance throughout college by taking classes at Broadway Dance Center. She began student teaching at Generations of Dance in 2006 and soon after, she was teaching her own classes. She also taught with Kids Dance Caravan, a traveling dance company that visits daycares and preschools to teach children dance. Alexis hopes to continue her dance and teaching career while someday beginning a family. "Miss Ali" has won several top awards over the past few years as a teacher and choreographer at G.O.D and her enthusiasm and outgoing personality is welcome addition to the studio!
Miss Meghan
Dance Instructor & Choreographer
Miss Meghan has been dancing since she was a kid. Her dance career began at a local dance studio, and she continued to explore new studios over the span of her career. Miss Meghan has studied most styles of dance, but her specialty has always been ballet. She has been taught by Prima Ballerina, Monika Pesak, the owner of The Burklyn Ballet Theater, Joanne Whitehill, Cirque du Soleil and Barnum and Bailey acrobat, Kindra Williams, and countless other professionals who have elevated her love for dance, and ballet most of all. Miss Meghan is a proud Generations of Dance Alumna, and she continues to find new ways to challenge herself and her students each week. When she is not teaching dance, Miss Meghan is a 4th grade teacher. She wants all of her student in school and in the dance studio to see their own potential.
Miss Becca
Dance Instructor & Choreographer
Miss Becca is originally from a suburb of Detroit, Michigan, is a New York based artist. A few of her credits include a featured dancer in Warner Brothers- In the Heights, Phish’s NYE at Madison Square Garden, Invisiball with NBDC on Broadway, the role of Graziella in MRT’s West Side Story, NY Auto show, NY Comic Con, and NY Fashion week. Rebecca has performed at venues around the U.S. such as, The Joyce Theater, Javits Center, Detroit Opera House L.A’s Montalbon, Tennessee PAC and several more. She has danced for artists Phish, Coheed and Cambria, 3oh3!, Jason Derulo, Nova Zef, Nickleback and Kid Rock. She was an assistant choreographer for CHER on Broadway, the NY Knicks Dance team and many APAP performances. Rebecca has been featured in Dance Spirit magazine as a “mover and shaker to know” and Paper Magazine’s upcoming artists. She has been training and performing with Jon Rua’s The Grit, Nadine Bommer Dance Company, MG & Artists and Vessels Co. outside and throughout NYC. Rebecca’s love for dance deepens when she’s able to see the joy and curiosity it brings out in others. She has a strong passion to share her current (and growing) knowledge of movement to all her students.
Miss Mackenzie
Dance Instructor & Choreographer
Mackenzie Johnson studied at Pace University in New York City. She has competed for over 16 years and worked with different Competition outlets. Mackenzie trained in many styles of dance, favoring tap and contemporary. She has held many titles including Starbound 2018 Dance Spirit Award and scholarship winner. Mackenzie started teaching dance at 15 years old and has found an extreme love for the art and her students. As the daughter of Miss Beth, she enjoys working closely with her family and carrying forward the love and skills of dance to future generations.
Miss Kerri
Dance Instructor & Choreographer
Miss Kerri Benson Koch started dancing when she was two years old and danced with Miss Beth and Miss Alissa for most her years. She is experienced in tap, ballet, jazz, and lyrical. Kerri danced competitively for 13 years! She started as a dance teacher at the age of 18. She graduated from Fairleigh Dickinson with her bachelor’s degree in psychology and her master’s degree in elementary education. Kerri has a natural ability to work well with and inspire children. She is currently a kindergarten teacher at Byram Lakes Elementary School where she has been teaching for 13 years. Miss Kerri is also a wife and mother of three beautiful children: Joey, Kameryn and Carson. We are so happy to have Miss Kerri with Generations of Dance to inspire and encourage our dancers.
Miss Kim
Dance Instructor & Choreographer
Miss Kim has been dancing since the young age of two! She began competing at the age of eight, and absolutely fell in love with everything about dance and competition. Miss Kim trained with Miss Alissa and Miss Beth throughout all of her years of taking dance lessons. When Miss Kim was 14, she began student teaching with Miss Alissa and Miss Beth. Before she knew it, she was teaching many recreational and competitive classes throughout her high school, college years, and beyond. Miss Kim attended Fairleigh Dickinson and earned her B.A. in Psychology. After working as an aide in a school for children with special needs, Miss Kim decided to pursue her degree in Special Education from Kean University. Upon completion, Miss Kim began teaching special education at Byram Intermediate School. This is where Miss Kim developed a love for working with students with learning disabilities and various other challenges. To gain more expertise and knowledge, Miss Kim earned a Master’s degree from The College of New Jersey in Special Education. After spending 12 years teaching special education, Miss Kim decided to go back to college to earn a Learning Disabilities Teacher Consultant certification from Rutgers University. Currently, Miss Kim works on the Child Study Team in the Denville School system as a Learning Disabilities Teacher Consultant. Although Miss Kim loves to learn and work with children at school, her true passion is for teaching dance. Miss Kim thoroughly enjoys working with the children at Generations of Dance and feels so fortunate to be sharing her passion and love for dance with all of the amazing kids at Generations of Dance. Miss Kim strives to create a positive atmosphere where dance class is fun, while the children are still learning and improving. Miss Kim loves to choreograph jazz and lyrical routines for all of her students, and most of all loves to see them being performed on stage. In addition, Miss Kim is busy at home with two children (Dylan, 5 and Shea, 3). Generations of Dance is honored to have Miss Kim teaching our dancers and sharing her joy for dance with all of them.
Miss Heather
Dance Instructor & Choreographer
Miss Heather Loven was a gymnast for over 20 years. She started teaching in High School and continued throughout college. While in High School and College she also participated in various theater productions, lending her dance and gymnastic skills on stage. She earned her BFA in Fine Arts at Centenary College, where she was a cheerleader. After college she taught gymnastics until she started a family. Now that her children all dance at Generations, she has caught the teaching bug again. She loves teaching and sharing her passion for gymnastics and wants every student to learn and become the best gymnast and dancer that they can be. She is a wife and mother to 3 children, Conor, Brenna and Ashlynn.
Miss Lexy
Dance Instructor & Choreographer
Miss Lexy Fabiani is currently studying at the County College of Morris with a major in Psychology. She has competed at Generations of Dance for over 13 years. She trained in many styles of dance favoring hip hop and jazz. Aside from being a dance teacher, Lexy is head teacher of her classroom at Little Learner Academy. Lexy thoroughly enjoys working with her students and feels so fortunate to be sharing her passion for dance with all of the amazing kids at Generations of Dance. We are very lucky to have such a sweet caring and kind person working with our kids and instilling the joy of dance into their lives.
Miss Lindsay
Dance Instructor & Choreographer
Miss Lindsey Irwin started dancing when she was 4 years old with Miss Beth and Miss Alissa. She is experienced in tap, ballet, jazz, lyrical, hip-hop, modern, contemporary, and pom. Lindsey danced competitively for 17 years! She danced with Generations of Dance at regional and national competitions and at various community service events! She was also part of the Roxbury High School dance program. During college, she was a member of the Monmouth University Dance Team for 4 years. There she performed at home sporting events and attended NDA collegiate nationals. In 2013, Lindsey graduated from Monmouth University with her Bachelors of Arts in English and Elementary Education and an endorsement in Special Education. She is now a 3rd grade teacher. Lindsey is also an original alumni and dance teacher at G.O.D!
Miss Kara
Dance Instructor & Choreographer
Miss Kara - Dance has been a part of Kara‘s life since the age of five. She trained in ballet tap jazz lyrical and grew up in the competition world. Kara graduated from Montclair State University with a BFA in dance.. For 18 years she was the director, teacher and choreographer of a local dance studio, but has now taking a step back and passed on the legacy. She is happy to still be part of the Generations of Dance family and is looking forward to choreographing.
Miss Alissa
Dance Instructor & Choreographer
Mrs. Alissa Lay has been dancing for over 33 years and teaching for over 20 years! A graduate of Montclair State University, Miss Alissa has a degree in Psychology with a minor in dance. She also studied for over 15 years at the "Broadway Dance Center" in NYC. Miss Alissa is well known in the competitive dance circuit for her creative and memorable choreography. She has won hundreds of Top Teacher, Outstanding Choreography and High-Score Awards! Miss Alissa has devoted her life to instructing students of all ages and hopes to instill a love for dance in everyone she teaches! Miss Alissa is also a wife and mother to two beautiful little girls; Taylor and Skylar!
Mr. Nick
Dance Instructor & Choreographer
Nick Hambrecht, a New York City based dancer, who has been training in most genres of dance since the age of three. Nick started out as a competition dancer and from 2001-2011 he traveled throughout central NJ collecting multiple overall/title awards. After nine years, Nick left the competition world to embark on a more commercial track, studying in different genres of Hip-Hop, such as Popping/Waving, House, BBoying, etc. and performing around the NJ/NYC area in places such as, the Highline Ballroom for Sybarite, and Central Park NYC for the Summer Stage Tour as an opening act for Rock Steady Crew. Nick took his training to the world famous Broadway Dance Center in Manhattan, NY and during his studies and shortly after graduating he was given many performance opportunities, such as playing the lead (Dr. Fright) in “Dead Man’s Party” at Six Flags Great Adventure and being featured in a video for the non-profit organization Global Citizens, both projects choreographed by Ashlé Dawson (SYTYCD Season 1, Top 4). Other choreographers include Ellenore Scott (SYTYCD Season 6 Finalist), Carlos Neto, performing at Madison Square Garden for Brinda Guha, and for Derek Mitchell's Capezio ACE Awards piece "loss/gain" in L.A. Since then, Nick has continued to audition and work professionally in NYC & around the world. In 2017 he traveled to both the Philippines & Canada to perform in shows for Spirit Productions USA. Currently Nick is with Odyssey Dance Theatre in Salt Lake City, Utah under the direction of Derryl Yeager (A Chorus Line National Tour). With Odyssey Nick has had the pleasure to play many featured roles in their full productions, such as, Nick Bottom in “Midsummer Night’s Dream” and Uncle Billy in “It’s A Wonderful Life”. Mr. Nick has been with Generations of Dance since 2017, and in just that short time has made a tremendous impact on our students - he teaches them control, builds their strength and instills confidence. His choreography for just Generations of Dance alone has been recognized by the competition outlets such as Beyond The Stars, National Dance Showcase, DECA, Starbound and more and has been awarded time and time again. He is an invaluable addition as a teacher, choreographer and mentor at G.O.D.
Miss Kristin
Dance Instructor & Choreographer
Miss Kristin danced throughout her childhood with Miss Beth and Miss Alissa. She competed in tap, jazz, gymnastics and lyrical. Miss Kristin’s most memorable times were experienced through dance! Aside from teaching at Generations of Dance, Miss Kristin works at a school for students with Autism. She recently graduated with her Masters in Behavior Analysis and soon will sit for her boards to become a Board Certified Behavior Analyst. Whether it is in the classroom or in the dance studio, Miss Kristin is enthusiastic to teach kiddos and most importantly she enjoys seeing them having fun. We are so lucky to have such a genuinely caring person to work with our children and teach them and leading them by the example that she lead in her own life.
Miss Sunny
Dance Instructor & Choreographer
Miss Sunny Park joined the G.O.D. family in 2010 when her daughter, Selene, started. She only started teaching in 2019. She loved dancing and started ballet at age 9 when living in South Korea. She pursued studying ballet seriously through the Sunwha Arts school & Sunhwa Arts High School in South Korea. She performed several school performances and the Nutcracker for three years with Universal Ballet company (a Korean professional ballet company). She then attended Kirov Ballet Academy in Washington DC to study Vaganova/Russian style ballet. Unfortunately, she had to stop studying ballet professionally due to an injury at age 18. When she came to teach ballet technique at G.O.D, she realized how much she missed ballet and loved teaching G.O.D. kids. Her other hobbies include cooking, yoga, and Taekwondo. Sunny is a valuable asset to helping our dancers learn discipline, control and technique with her refreshing teaching style - she is respected and appreciated - we are very thankful to have her teaching our children.
Miss Kellie
Dance Instructor
Kellie was the Director and Head Dance Instructor for NSSD where she trained in all dance since age 2. After touring with Dance Olympus VIP Program, she became the studio General Manager and then Director. Kellie's accomplishments include creating teacher assistant and student teacher programs which enhance student enrollment. She managed 8 teachers and 13 class assistants. She is also an award winning choreographer for the NSSD Competition Team. She is currently one of the parent/child instructors for Little Gym in Montclair. Kellie instructed infants and toddlers in fundamentals of motor skill development using gymnastic and fitness training through the Little Gym curriculum. Kellie is excited to bring her experience, ideas, talents and expertise to Generations of Dance. We are excited to have Miss Kellie a part of our team and even more excited to introduce her programs to our students and parents!
Mr. Sean
Dance Instructor & Choreographer
Mr. Sean - Originally from Nutley, NJ, Sean was a competitive dancer for 15+ years who specialized in tap dancing. He won numerous titles top overall awards, and grand championships over the years and has been training dancers for the last 10 years in tap. He has also worked for Starbound National Talent Competition as a stage manager and sound technician for the last 6 years. Mr. Sean also was featured multiple times on the Lifetime TV Show, Dance Moms and filmed a Delta Airlines dance commercial with Serena Williams. We are super excited to have Mr. Sean be part of GOD.
