Dance Instructor & Choreographer
Nick Hambrecht, a New York City based dancer, who has been training in most genres of dance since the age of three. Nick started out as a competition dancer and from 2001-2011 he traveled throughout central NJ collecting multiple overall/title awards. After nine years, Nick left the competition world to embark on a more commercial track, studying in different genres of Hip-Hop, such as Popping/Waving, House, BBoying, etc. and performing around the NJ/NYC area in places such as, the Highline Ballroom for Sybarite, and Central Park NYC for the Summer Stage Tour as an opening act for Rock Steady Crew. Nick took his training to the world famous Broadway Dance Center in Manhattan, NY and during his studies and shortly after graduating he was given many performance opportunities, such as playing the lead (Dr. Fright) in “Dead Man’s Party” at Six Flags Great Adventure and being featured in a video for the non-profit organization Global Citizens, both projects choreographed by Ashlé Dawson (SYTYCD Season 1, Top 4). Other choreographers include Ellenore Scott (SYTYCD Season 6 Finalist), Carlos Neto, performing at Madison Square Garden for Brinda Guha, and for Derek Mitchell's Capezio ACE Awards piece "loss/gain" in L.A. Since then, Nick has continued to audition and work professionally in NYC & around the world. In 2017 he traveled to both the Philippines & Canada to perform in shows for Spirit Productions USA. Currently Nick is with Odyssey Dance Theatre in Salt Lake City, Utah under the direction of Derryl Yeager (A Chorus Line National Tour). With Odyssey Nick has had the pleasure to play many featured roles in their full productions, such as, Nick Bottom in “Midsummer Night’s Dream” and Uncle Billy in “It’s A Wonderful Life”. Mr. Nick has been with Generations of Dance since 2017, and in just that short time has made a tremendous impact on our students - he teaches them control, builds their strength and instills confidence. His choreography for just Generations of Dance alone has been recognized by the competition outlets such as Beyond The Stars, National Dance Showcase, DECA, Starbound and more and has been awarded time and time again. He is an invaluable addition as a teacher, choreographer and mentor at G.O.D.
